EMERGENCE & TRANSFORMATIONS, 1974
6’ x 3.5’ x18’ WOOD, PLASTIC, MIRROR
While sculpting this work, I reverted to some timeless past. The feeling was ancient and magically divine that made the rendering effortless. There was a powerful sense of momentum – a feverish obsession to do this piece that, between my full-time studies at college, took five months to complete. A calling was triggered deep within me that sparked my journey with no end in sight. Indeed, I’m presently in the throes of writing a three-book series where the ’73 vision and the rendering of this work are integral to the story. My spontaneity and joy are as fresh as they were in the 70’s and I’m grateful, after all these years, of this newfound attempt to unravel the mysteries of life once again.
This sculpture will be staged during my book presentations that will show how long I’ve been on my journey. I am thrilled how my creative pursuits are merging and feel so blessed and honored that I will soon share my story with the world.
