KUKUMONDO, 1983-85

I began this work in ’83 that extended into ’85 simply because I did other works in-between. It’s the last of my large landscape pieces. In this work, my people figures are victimized by a labyrinth of machine-like creatures. Only a few able bodied human-like forms survive. Most have been altered into products of machine activity. Almost everything has become unfeeling and mechanical. The remaining figures must do some major “pulling apart” and “reassembling” if individual identity and purpose are to return in this self-made hell.
